Day 95
Teddy has the munchies...
Teddy went to an exhibition |Tæ'boõq|طابوق, which was held at derwazat abdulrazzaq subway, mubarak alkabeer st., kuwait city.
1. The location was unbelievable. I never knew it existed and I'm glad I do now. It's officially my second favourite place in Kuwait now.
2. The exhibition itself was beautiful, I wished there were more photos. It's a research (still in it's initial phase) showing the facades of Kuwait's buildings during the 60/70's, emphasising on the way they have aged and reacted to the city itself. The photographs show the details of cracks, discolouration and pigmentation. These will be used as a study to analyse the movement and displacement of the city around them.
It is a 2 day event. If you're interested in our city's architecture please attend today (wednesday) at the following location and time (it will not be in the same location as the photo):
time:6:30pm
place: safat square, fahad alsalem st., between mubarakiyah souk and municipality public garden, kuwait city
For more info check out their event's page.
Thank you Deema AlGhunaim for your enlightening development. I can't wait to see what the conclusion to your research will be!

It was pretty cool!
At some point I was wondering whether Teddy was there at the exhibition :)
salam teddy, this is the first time to hear about this place. i would like to visit it once. i hope liked this great place. in the photo this place looks creepy to visit. inshallah i will try to come to this place today.
what is your first favorite place in kuwait?
Yes Teddy, We should encourage those people (e.g. Deema AlGhunaim & Teddy's owner).
They are brilliant & doing more than good in their field.
I wish I can cross by but unfortunately I got another obligations :S
Maybe I can help in analyzing these 3 photos..
Photo 1 : White Beehive pattern with randomized A.C sites (The Colony)
Photo 2 : No A.C, most probably central cooling system or they were using fans (Pigeons Palace)
Photo 3 : Again Randomized A.C giving a clue of self placing according to residents mood (The Mood)
Forgive my decent comment, Its not my field but trying my best ;)
The exhibition looks unique...
Arch.Deema AlGhunaim was a brilliant student in q8 university department of architecture and i think this research is a continuation of a part of her (thesis) graduation project...
I really like her spirit and hardworking >> Good Luck
BTW BruTus, nice try to analyze those pix i wish it was that simple:)
AL-Shaya - my favourite place in Kuwait is the abandoned lot opposite AUK. The old houses there. You can see my images of that place in the latest Student Talk magazine.
BruTus - I especially liked your White Beehive interpretation. Very unique! :P
