Day 94 - Recycle

Teddy awaits the angel of recycling...

Did you know that there is a recycling man? He comes to your door and collects all your old newspapers and magazines. There are also types of recycling men who collect plastic, metal, etc.

The above is for the lazy people who can't be bothered to chuck them in the nearby recycling bins in almost every co-op (like Teddy). The bins are categorised by type and are very easy to use! Let's say you have plenty of empty plastic bottles. The bin you should pick is the one with a plastic bottle on it. Lift the lid, throw your bottles in there, et voila! You officially recycled. Isn't that brilliant? *my attempt of sarcasm*

In Canada, they stopped giving out plastic bags in supermarkets. If you want to take your food home, you have to bring your own bag. Since we live in a wealthy country, which supplies grocery boys to carry your stuff to the car, don't you think it should be fundamentally easy to bring your own bags and fill them, ask the grocery boy to carry them to your car *since you don't walk home*,  rather than use the small ones that barely carry anything, and end up in your laundry room piling up? *my attempt at satire*

salam teddy I used to recycle newspapers and I still do.this is a brilliant point for the people who are around us. This should be done everywhere in the world. I once did an recycling project in school and the school liked it. I hope the angel is coming inshallah. .

Did the angel come or not?

i love how u called them angels! :D

& about plastic bags, oh,God, dont u just hate them? lol sometimes they're not needed, like im getting jut 2 or 3 little items that are "dry" & can fit into my bag (the one i carry around all the time), so why do i need those bags? & sometimes they use two bags for just a few items! i mean, come on!

i usually carry a big bag with me (thnk God they are still in fashion!), so whenever i have to buy little stuff (that wont mess with my pretty precious bag!!!) i'll use my bag to carry them.

btw, my cousin works in GTC ;D
we always call him whenever our paper stuff piles up.
so, he's our angel :D

Teddy I may add a nice concept i read about R3:
Reduce

Thease ideas can be integrated in every feild of life.

In my point of view, first we need to raise the awareness of such an important issue. The government should do a campaign supported by of course all the company who are doing the recycling (Green Target Company & Al-Arfaj etc.)

The Government Benghaith? You really think the government will spend it's money to promote sustainability, efficiency and environmental issues when it can't even promote itself? Green Target is a youth organization, the people who run it are young. These guys won't get much help from the government if our large, local companies couldn't get aid from them in our recent crisis.

So in my point of view I think that we, as a society, should raise the awareness of such an important issue :)

I was busy that day .. but I should comment even later ..
AphRodiTe Love your concept ..
Teddy , I remember few years back our nearby Co-op Market was using the recyclable bag material instead of the plastic one.. It was a nice move from them but after less than 2 months they change it back to plastic !!
I will ask what happened !!
