Teddy strikes a pose on what could be the largest carpet in the world...



Did you know?


1. This carpet was woven in the city of Nain, located in the central part of Iran.
2. Nain is one of Iran's largest and most famous carpet manufacturers.
3. This carpet was a challenge put forth by some of the largest carpet dealers and one of the biggest carpet manufacturers in the city of Nain.
4. The raw materials needed to weave this carpet included:
1200Kgs of Cotton for the base
3600Kgs of the finest wool
800Kgs of the finest silk
5. The complete process from design to completion of this carpet took 125 skilled weavers 15 years (from 1973-1988)
6. The cleaning process after the carpet was completed required:
1 old airport runway
50 workers
53,000 liters of water
3 large cranes
5 industrial tractors
7. The finished carpet weighs over 3000Kgs (3 Ton)
8. This carpet has a Knot count of 50knots/cm²
9. This carpet is NOT a collection of multiple smaller pieces. This carpet is ONE SINGLE piece.
10. Measured size: 32.2x29.68m Approx: 955.7m²

That's amazing. It was very nice of them to display this precious carpet in Kuwait.

I think we tend to overlook Persian culture and how much it has influenced us in the Gulf.

BruTus I feel bad I always do this to you! Next time I promise if there's an event that I go to I'll make sure to follow through with the updates.

Soofoo, they're two brothers (I think their brothers) who have a carpet store here in Kuwait called Samover Carpets and purchased it for a lot of money. We got to see it for free! If you wanna see it you can go to their store in Al-Tilal it's massive!

Abdulrahman, it was so big it had to be displayed in one of the courts at the Arabiya Stadium!
