Day 52

Teddy touches the face of Umm Kulthum, the most distinguished arab singer...

For those of you who have not yet gone to the Umm Kulthum exhibition in 360 Mall... You must. For those of you who don't know Umm Kulthum, please click the link below to see a short, but outstanding performance as she sings the first couple of lines to her song Nazra.

This woman had men bending down to kiss her feet. She was married to her country Egypt, and although she died, her legacy will live on forever.

God bliss her good soul, she was representing the pure unplugged beautiful sound the Arab country had never heard like it before. She is my best, actually my auntie loves her a lot and i listened to her songs when my auntie plays it her Cassette player... i in-love with her unmatched voice.

She was one powerful woman and she had a voice that depicted that power. Shes unprecedented and unmatched. I liked how they described her in the exhibition as the fourth pyramid (although it may be in correct since there are dozens of pyramids in Egypt...or did they mean the World wonders?)
Visiting the exhibition, I got the shivers and my eyes teared in that part where they had clips of her funeral and an audio of a song she sang of death or parting...cant really remember. So sad...:( allah yer7amha ...
Its great of you Teddy to explore such places and sharing them with us :)
